Leading charity, The Haven, is delighted to announce a very generous donation of £750.00 from a recent memorial bowling tournament organised in memory of a former club member and local volunteer, Cathie Lennon.

The Haven is an award-winning Scottish charity, formed in 2001 to improve the overall quality of life for adults, children & young people, families, and carers affected by a life-limiting illness and bereavement by offering practical, emotional and wellbeing support to individuals, carers, and families.
Cathie volunteered with The Haven for over 10 years, and offered her support to those who were experiencing challenging or difficult times by lending a listening ear and helping them to face the future with hope.
Her legacy lives on through the event sponsored by the Lennon family. Her husband, Michael, her son, John, and daughters, Anne and Michele all participated in the annual memorial event - which took place recently at Strathclyde Bowling Club - to celebrate her legacy, and to acknowledge the significant contribution Cathie made to help other people in her local community through volunteering.
The winning team of the day was John Latimer and Jim Freeland. The memorial event was a huge success, and a great day was had by all.
Donations made in memory of someone are very special and are an important source of income for The Haven, to help continue to develop and strengthen many exciting programs of support for families living in the community - especially during these challenging times.
Paul Hayward, Campaigns and Communications for The Haven, said, “We are so deeply moved by the generosity and continued support from Cathie’s family, and are so thankful that Cathie’s legacy continues to inspire others.
The kind donation of £750.00 received from Cathie’s family and club members is a significant contribution. This will help towards the sustainability of our supportive wellbeing and bereavement services to individuals, families, and carers who are navigating the journey of a life-limiting illness and bereavement. Thank you to all those involved for your kindness.”
The Haven would like to say a special thanks to Lennon family for their on-going support, Strathclyde Bowling Club for their hospitality, club members, and everyone who very kindly donated and supported the event.
