BLANTYRE COUPLE RAISE OVER £1500 FOR THE HAVEN THROUGH IMPRESSIVE 10K RUN

The Haven is delighted to announce the remarkable fundraising achievement of local community members, Siobhan and Robert Moore, who both completed Run Scotland’s Strathclyde Spring 10K on Sunday 5th May 2024 and raised an incredible £1,563 in aid of the charity’s cause.

The Haven is a cornerstone of Lanarkshire. It provides compassionate, uplifting, and supportive services to help enhance and strengthen the resilience and wellbeing of children, young people, adults, and carers who are affected by a life-limiting illness and bereavement.

As its names suggests, The Haven is a safe, peaceful place where people affected by life-limiting illnesses and bereavement can access support when they need it most, and it is through the selfless dedication of individuals like Siobhan and Rab that The Haven are able to continue this important work.

They both undertook the tough 10K challenge as they wanted to give back to a local charity who were there for them at time when no one else was able to help.

With steady determination and passion, they showcased the true spirit of generosity and compassion by completing the 10K challenge in just over an hour, and placing at an impressive 54th and 56th out of 195, and gained lots of support along the way.

Paul Gordon Hayward, Campaigns and Communications Officer for The Haven, said:
"We are immensely grateful to Siobhan and Rab for their extraordinary dedication and commitment to supporting The Haven. We are overwhelmed with the amount of support they have received – donations just keep pouring in! Their incredible fundraising achievement of completing a hard-going 10K run and raising such a fantastic amount of £1,563 will directly and positively impact the lives of many of our clients, and allow The Haven to continue providing much-needed support services to our local communities”.

Their tireless efforts have not only exceeded their own expectations, but have also inspired others to rally behind The Haven’s cause and help make a difference in the lives of those who need support most.

The Haven extends its heartfelt gratitude to both Siobhan and Rab, and all those who supported their fundraising efforts. Together, we are making a significant difference in the lives of individuals and families facing challenging circumstances.
